A car bomb has exploded in the Syrian capital Damascus, reportedly leaving some casualties one day after another bomb attack targeted vehicles belonging to Press TV and al-Alam television networks.

The Saturday blast took place as the Syria army is battling terrorist in Damascus’ suburbs and has cleaned parts of the capital of insurgents. Fierce clashes have been going on in the Hujaira district in the city.

On Friday, a bomb explosion occurred near Press TV’s office in Damascus after a man was caught on camera sticking an explosive device to a car. The bomb attack, however, did not cause any casualties.

This is while the Syria army has found a warehouse containing considerable amounts of Israeli-made weapons belonging to the foreign-backed insurgents.

Syria has been the scene of unrest since March 2011, and many people, including large numbers of security forces, have lost their lives in the turmoil.

The Syrian government says that the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country, and there are reports that a very large number of the militants are foreign nationals.

On Tuesday, Syrian Al Watan daily published the names of 142 foreign militants from 18 countries who were killed while fighting against Syria’s government. Almost 50 of those named were Saudi nationals.

According to the daily, the militants entered Syria via Turkey and Lebanon and were mostly extremists belonging to al-Qaeda or had joined the terrorist group after arriving in the country.
